Media Release Authorization
Communications and Marketing provides an array of services to RSU as part of our effort to share news and information about one of Oklahoma’s fastest-growing public universities including media relations, graphic design, photography, strategic marketing, and web-based communications services.
In addition, we create and produce several publications including:
- Business Cards, Letterhead and Envelopes
- Brochures, Postcards, Booklets, Flyers and Posters
- Academic Support Material
- Student Life Programs
- Program Summary Sheets
- University and Alumni Newsletters
We are eager to work with you on your publication needs. Each semester, we work with RSU faculty and staff to develop printed publications for a variety of audiences, including prospective students, current students, alumni, donors and members of the community.
Most two-color, single-color and black and white publications are printed on campus at the RSU Print Shop. Four-color publications are printed at vendors around the state, selected on the basis of competitive bidding.
Since your project will be placed on a production schedule with many other projects, we encourage you to contact us early in your planning process. Our goal is to provide you with a high-quality product in a timely manner. Most publication projects may be completed in 6-12 weeks, depending upon their scope and size.
Your first step is to schedule a meeting with your designated contact to discuss your project. You will want to determine the following information prior to the meeting:
- Marketing objectives
- Audiences to be reached
- Text, design and photo ideas
- Mailing requirements
- Desired outcome
- Quantity of publication
If you’re not sure about some of this information, contact us with your questions. We can help you!
Permanent Signs: The Communications and Marketing Office is responsible for permanent interior and exterior building signage, including all identification, directional and room number signage. If your department is in need of new or additional signage, please contact us. We maintain a set of graphic standards for all permanent campus signage. Those standards, including size, color, and design, vary slightly according to a building’s interior design and color scheme. All signage must be ADA compliant and include information in Braille. Cost of the signs must be approved by the Physical Plant Office. The university maintains various vendors to maintain and produce new university signage.
Temporary Signs: If your department is in need of temporary campus signage to help advertise or direct visitors to a special event, you may contact the Print Shop. Printing Center personnel will help produce the signs for you. A variety of temporary signage formats are available. Your department will be expected to pay for the signs and you should contact the Physical Plant to arrange for installation and removal. Signs should be recycled for future use when possible.
Banners: Temporary or semi-permanent vinyl banners may be ordered by your department by contacting the Print Shop. The Print Shop will adhere to approved RSU graphic standards in developing your sign. Use of the RSU colors of blue and red is strongly encouraged whenever possible. You will need to contact the Physical Plant for installation and removal of the banners. Your department will be charged for the banners.
